Andy Warhol – From A to B and Back again

Keren Or’s Women’s Division regularly hosts events to raise awareness about our work with blind and multi-disabled children, and many of these social activities are centered around the visual arts. Our Women’s Division visited the Whitney Museum of American Art on December 12, 2018 to view the exhibition of one of the most inventive and influential American artists, Andy Warhol. The exhibition is the biggest retrospective in almost 30 years, celebrating the life and work of Warhol. New complexities were revealed about Warhol, as well as the powerful effect the artist continues to have on our contemporary society.

In November, our Women’s Division had the chance to go on an Upper East Side Walking Tour.

The Women’s Division attended the Upper East Side walking tour a month earlier on November 29th for a broader view of established and emerging artists. Art historian Deborah A. Goldberg, Ph.D. led the tour of a selection of Upper East Side galleries exhibiting modern and contemporary art. Members of our Women’s Division discussed the different art concepts and how they relate to modern day. Both events were enormously enjoyable and successful in attendance and participation.

Luncheon with Mayor Barkat

On July 28th, Keren Or was honored to have Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat come and speak to us at our luncheon. We are extremely grateful that Mayor Barkat took time out of his very busy schedule to visit us while he was in New York to show his support for Keren Or. We are also thankful to Eliot Lauer for hosting this luncheon. Below are pictures from this exciting event!
